Best Seattle Dive Bars

Anyone can make a list of the fancy places in town. But here at Keep Seattle Weird, we love the older places with character (and characters!), good bourban and beer and great burgers.

As Adam Michelson once said, "A dive bar is where you're worried about being stabbed, and a dive-themed bar is where you want to stab everyone".

North Seattle Shay's in Shoreline (good food, strong drinks) Darrell's Tavern (no food, live music on the weekends, bad art but in a good way. And carpet on the walls!) Rickshaw (fun karaoke nights) Baranof in Greenwood (lots of fried food!) Mke's Chili Parlor (beer and chili!) The Blue Moon (old hippie hang-out, no food) The Roanoke (burgers) Hatties Hat in Ballard (Excellent food and drinks) Wedgewood Broiler (Good steaks, stiff drinks, looks old school and smells it too!) The Zoo Tavern in Eastlake (no food, cooperatively-owned) North City Tavern Fiddlers Inn Central Seattle Mecca 5 Point Cafe Lowell's Athenian Siren Tavern (Sodo) Ozzies on Queen Anne Red Onion in Madison Park (pizza) South Seattle Lucky Liquor (Good food and live music on the weekends) Slim's Last Chance (Live music and chili!) Marco Polo (good fried chicken!) Jules Mae (good food and live music) West Seattle Chelan Cafe Loretta's in South Park (Excellent burgers!) Sunnydale Tavern Hobnobber Poggie Tavern (No food... a true dive bar) Yen Wor Village - Chinese Restaurant and Bar. Love the food and karaoke!
